George Golf Club

Golf Digest International rated George Golf Club 10th in SA 2019.

Our course is set at the foot of the Outeniqua Mountains, the heart of the Garden Route, and offers spectacular landscapes of the mountains and surrounding plateau.

George Golf Course is the ideal golfing experience, perfect for any type of golfer. One of the oldest courses in South Africa, the Clubhouse is a unique experience and is sure to be enjoyed by all.

Oubaai

At Oubaai this is the cornerstone of our belief. Home means something different to all is but a home should be a place that nourishes the body, mind and spirit. This is the underlying value that has created and grown Oubaai Golf Resort into the outstanding residential estate that it is today.

Situated adjacent to Herolds Bay on the Garden Route, a mere 8 minutes from George Airport, this hidden gem is ideally located with 180 degree views of the Indian Ocean.

Authentic is one of the first words that comes to mind when thinking about Oubaai, designed to blend in with the natural splendour of the Cape. The eco-friendly ethos has created a natural paradise – providing a haven to an array of wildlife.

State of the art security systems offer complete peace of mind, enabling Oubaai residents to wander the expanse of the 546 hectare estate without a worry.

The Ernie Els 18 hole Championship course is kept in mint condition and it is one of the most beautiful settings that can be seen anywhere in the golfing world. It was recently awarded 3rd best conditioned course in Southern Cape and 10th in South Africa. The layout of the course is a traditional links type layout where veld grasses line the manicured fairways.

The course measures 6,516 metres from the pro tees, which is uniquely long for a coastal course.

Simola

“As I walk the site, my top priority is finding features such as native trees, grade variations or natural wetlands that can enhance shot values or scenically frame holes. I let the environmental surroundings shape the holes, so they fit the terrain. I never try to force an idea onto a piece of land.” – Jack Nicklaus on his design process.

The 18-hole, par 72 Championship Course designed by the Golden Bear has many aspects that play in its favour. One of only three Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Courses in Africa and the first to be designed of those three, the course meanders along the impressive landscape high atop Simola hill.

Unique to coastal courses, the wind is rarely a factor here, while it has often been said that the incredible views will make it hard to keep your head down.

Jack Nicklaus wrote of his design at Simola that it was his “…aim to create a golf course that will be a demanding test of skill for the accomplished golfer playing from the back tees. But, at the same time, I want to offer a challenging, yet enjoyable experience for the average or beginner player who plays from the appropriate tees and thinks his or her way around the golf course.” The result? A legendary golf course that challenges and delights members and visitors every day. And a Championship Course that has hosted the likes of the Sunshine Tour and the Vodacom Origins of Golf.

The course boasts an unusual configuration with five par 5 and five par 3 holes, with four tees to choose from.

Pinnacle Point

Overlooking the Indian Ocean near Mossel Bay, and designed by Peter Matkovich and 2011 Open Champion, Darren Clarke, Pinnacle Point is one of the most unique and scenic golf courses in the world.

This Clifftop Fynbos Golf Course inspires the golfer to play this challenging layout with a level of respect due to its dramatic views and breathtaking terrain. The 72 par layout is characterised by 7 majestic holes that line the Indian Ocean rock cliffs, four of which are played over ocean and cliff. All 18 holes have been designed to fit the contours of the land.

Golfers have access to a number of world-class facilities, including the Louis Oosthuizen Junior Academy, driving range, putting green, club-fitting and repairs workshop, and excellent pro shop, not to mention a clubhouse with 270-degree sea views.

In both 2016 and 2017 Pinnacle Point was named South Africa’s Best Golf Course at the Annual World Golf Awards.

2018 & 2019 – And the awards keep coming! Pinnacle Point Estate is again nominated as “South Africa’s Best Golf Course” by the World Golf Awards.
